I'm going to have to look at a couple of the other angle grinder attached tools. This one works really well on the concave cuts -- bowls, spoons, etc. I works on the exteriors as well but I'm thinking that one of the other tools in the line may work better -- I'm really really pleased.

Perfect for carving bowls. I use it for carving burl bowls that I don't want to turn. As with the mini planer my only complaint is that the shaft is to short but again I resolved that problem by having my local machinist fabricate two extensions one in 4" and another in 6". Not difficult.

This is such a neat tool! It is great for hollowing out bowls and spoons. The learning curve for this is really small just watch some YouTube videos and you'll get the idea.

I have worked on three bowls with this unit and it does a great job overall. Easy to control. Path and how aggressive it can cut. Light passing will smooth and finely shave surface. The cutter head can be adjusted when it becomes dull and for me cutting maple seems that it has dulled rather quickly. Not seeing replacement heads online yet but confident they will be avaliable soon. This is a nice addition for shaping and smaller piece work. Do not hesitate to buy.
